We’ve talked about how to save time on your catholic wedding day before, but we want to give you more insight on what we think is actually the BIGGEST hack for timesaving and how one of our couples used it flawlessly.
Just as a refresher for the newbies, if you are having a Catholic Wedding Day, there is one thing you can always use more of…TIME!
Why? Because Catholic Weddings traditionally involve time-consuming elements such as Mass and family portraits. And while these are the most important parts of the day, they do tend to take time away from some of the more easy going, candid moments. Those are important to have on your Catholic wedding day, too!
The Timesaving Hack for Catholic Wedding Days
So what can you do to make sure that you have the the most efficient day and leave all kinds of time for detail photos, authentic moments, and relaxation? Are you ready?
Have your getting ready process, cocktail hour, portrait location, and reception ALL in one location in close proximity to your Catholic Church!
What this does is simple: it cuts out an average of 1-2 hours worth of travel out of your day! So you can spend more time actually enjoying your wedding day with your family and each other and less time in the car. You wouldn’t believe how much more fun you can include in your day!
And you may be thinking, “That’s impossible!” but let us show you exactly how Lauren and Jake used an all-inclusive venue to get the Catholic wedding day of their dreams!
How to Implement the Hack
Lauren and Jake spent the majority of their day in and around The Transept – a gorgeous wedding venue located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. And while they didn’t use the venue for their actual ceremony, they utilized this all-inclusive space for everything else.
Their timeline looked a little like this:
- 10:00 AM – Getting ready in the separate bride and groom getting ready spaces – The Bridal Tower and The Agreeing Room. As their photographers, we were able to easily hop back and forth between both of these rooms quickly and prioritize the big moments that were happening in both spaces.
- 11:00 AM – We moved on to detail photos in The Assembly – the reception space that doubled as the perfect location to set up a Catholic inspired flatlay.
- 12:00 PM – A full lunch break for everyone! How awesome is that??
- 1:00 PM – Final touches and individual portraits of the bride and groom and then on to a first look tucked away in a private back stairwell with stunning stained glass and gothic elegance.
- 1:30 PM – Formal portraits of the couple where we were able to be so creative and relaxed as we explored The North Tap Room and the surrounding streets of Cincinnati.
- 2:00 PM – Photos of the bridal party at Music Hall located just a couple of blocks from The Transept and even more portraits of the couple.
- 3:30 PM – Mass and church portraits to follow at Old St. Mary Catholic Church located within a few more blocks away. We had all kinds of time to capture the couple’s families but also just the two of them!
- 6:00 PM – We captured the entire cocktail hour while Lauren and Jake had time alone in The Bridal Tower! They shared a private dinner, had quiet conversation, and got to recharge before the reception.
- 7:00 PM – The bride and groom entered the reception and enjoyed speeches and special dances with their loved ones.
- 7:30 PM – Lauren and Jake excused themselves briefly from the reception to get photos in Washington Park located just outside of the Transept for golden hour portraits.
- 8:00 PM – The couple still had TWO HOURS left for reception fun on the dance before we said our goodbyes at 10:00 PM!
